|Dear Lindbergh High School families,
Last night, the St. Louis Suburban Public High School Athletic and Activities Association announced that St. Louis Suburban Athletic Conference schools will not begin practices on Monday, Aug. 10, as originally scheduled. As a result of this announcement, all St. Louis Suburban Athletic Conference high schools that are starting in a full virtual instruction model will be required to postpone tryouts and practices temporarily. This means Lindbergh High School will not hold tryouts on Monday, Aug. 10.
St. Louis area superintendents are meeting next week to develop a plan for what the fall sports season will look like when it is safe to return to normal activities. In the meantime, LHS coaches will be contacting athletes directly regarding weight training and conditioning activities next week.
On Wednesday, the Missouri State High School Activities Association announced that schools utilizing a virtual instructional model would be allowed to participate in MSHSAA sanctioned athletics and activities beginning on Monday. This is good news. However, many St. Louis Suburban Athletic Conference schools are still developing parameters to ensure student safety and comply with St. Louis Sports Medicine COVID-19 Task Force, St. Louis County and MSHSAA guidelines.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We will update you as soon as additional information is available.
Anyone interested in playing a sport MUST register on www.registermyathlete.com! Athletes MUST have a physical dated July 1, 2019 or after. All paperwork must be complete before the first day of tryouts.
